Pear and Apple Crisp

Ingredients
  • 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3 Bosc pears, peeled and thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp allspice
  • Topping
  • ½ c whole wheat pastry flour
  • ½ cup wheat germ
  • ⅓ cup finely chopped almonds
  • 2 tbs soy margarine, melted
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
 
Instructions
  1. Mix fruit and seasonings. Spread in a 13 x 9 sprayed pan.
  2. Combine topping ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle over fruit.
  3. Bake at 350 for 40-45 min., until fruit is soft and top is golden.
  4. Let cool to warm and serve with frozen non-dairy dessert topping if desired.
