Stewed fruit
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup dried apples
  • 1 cup pitted prunes
  • ⅓ cup dried apricots
  • Dash cinnamon
  • 2 tsp orange rind, grated optional
  • 2 tbs orange juice, unsweetened
  1. In a saucepan, combine water, apples, prunes, apricots, orange rind (if using) and orange juice.
  2. Over medium to high heat, bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes until tender but not mushy.
  4. Let cool and serve.
Can be covered and refrigerated for up to one week, stirring occasionally.
